Our Pastor, and Church …

House of Refuge, their pastor Eddie Hounshell, Sr. A strong man of God, ministering and preaching for over 30 years.

Before joining us here at House of Refuge, Brother Eddie had been the pastor at Newport Church of God since 1997. He and his wife, Kristi, have spent the last twenty-eight years ministering to the people of Newport and beyond with many different types of outreaches and other work for the Lord. The years that they were at Newport they prayed for bigger, and better facilities so that they could do more of God’s work.

“We were limited at Newport and couldn’t really do all the things that we wanted to do for God and his people. God has answered our prayer and opened the door for us in the Eastgate area to do a greater work for Him.”

Pastor Eddie’s vision for House of Refuge is to see it grow for the whole family, with church functions for all ages. He feels very blessed to be the pastor and is exited to continue building the church into a powerhouse for God.

Our Sundays begin with Bible Study at 10:00am and Church Service at 11:00am. Wednesday Afternoon Service at 7:00pm. Thursday Outreach from 5:00pm-9:00pm.
